Environmental Impact

The environmental footprint of Salty Crossing has always been one of my top concerns with owning a business. My intent has always been to create useful products that leave behind no waste for the consumer. Here’s a few ways I try to minimize the impact:

-Soaps are wrapped in card stock that is 100% post consumer recycled paper- and that wrapper can be recycled again or composted.

-Lotions and lip balms come in cardboard tubes that are fully compostable and biodegradable.

-I do not make any products that would require plastic packaging such as bottles or shrink wrap. I am exploring some options with biodegradable cellophane and shrink wrap for future products.

-I recycle clean packaging materials from my supplier orders whenever possible.

-I make a conscious effort to minimize disposable products in my process. This includes using washable towels instead of paper and washable reusable utensils instead of disposable paper or plastic.

If you spot a missed opportunity for Salty Crossing to be greener, please don’t hesitate to contact me with your ideas!
